She loves him, but she knows that she is damaged goods Elise was the type of heroine, that you just want to give comfort to. My heart just broke for her, and despite everything you learn about her, you see how strong she is, especially when it comes to the man that she loves. You see what she is willing to sacrifice for Merrick. Elise at first seems fragile, but as you see her courage and inner strength manifest itself through the story, your respect for her grows in the story.
Now there is about 14 installments I know that is alot. And boy does this author write fast. Geez, I can barely keep up. And each story keeps getting better as the series gets more entrenched. But you really need to start from the beginning, and the good news is that they aren't expensive books at all. And considering the quality, and the length Ever since I discovered this series, I have loved every moment. Now this series is in the Erotica genre No, its pretty close to mainstream but not quite, since the sex scenes are pretty HOT!!
But the plus is that there is a great plot and story line with each of the books.
In Pursued, we have two that have developed a close bond to each other, and there is only one way to break it There is quite a bit that happens in this story, and since its over pages, it really takes you on a whirlwind of adventure, suspense, and romance. You won't get bored with this one, in fact, I would say its one of the most intense of installments that I have read so far. Now even though there are plenty of steamy scenes, in retrospect its pretty light until the later half.
When you look at Elise and see what torments her, you understand, and boy will you love Merrick even more. Because really, its rare to find a hero like this one. This story is full of some twists and a couple of shocks Because I was seriously balling on my break at work!!
Pursued (Brides of the Kindred, #6) by Evangeline Anderson Review
The writing is superb and enthralling. I was completely drawn in from page one.
There are so many things that I loved about this book, and I think the one thing I didn't like was the fiance's role in the story, but it did add a bit of flair to the story though. It had everything I was expecting from Evangeline Anderson, and I can't wait until the next book. Cover This cover is so different from others I have seen, but it does go along with the "science fiction" theme. What I love is the bold colors, and how they blend together in the mniddle, where the couple pose is focused. Definitely a pretty cover, and one of my favorites for the series.
This author tells a tale of emotional struggles, a desire that ignites, and a love story that will warm you on a cold winters night. A tale of sacrifice and the power of true love. Jun 04, Bea rated it it was ok Shelves: goodreads-review , abuse-not-by-hero , warrior , sci-fi-romance , alien.

Thought about giving it a 1, but I reserve that for really bad books. If you liked the other books, then you will like this one. Meaning I could predict what would happen because it happened in every other book. I think I am done with this series. Nothing to see here, move along.

To enjoy this book, you really need to read 5. This picks up relatively far into their relationship; in Book 5 they meet when Merrick saves Elise after she escapes the AllFather's ship, and you see the attachment that begins to form between them.

- See a Problem?.
I really loved that part of their relationship and it's a shame that it's in a completely separate book. I love Merrick and all his swearing; he's a definite rough-around-the-edges kind of hero, but uber delicious. But maybe between the two of us, we can make a whole. You think?

Ami explained it the best above. Still reading to see where it goes but if each BOTK book from here on out "I don't have a problem that Elise has been sexually abused in the past and kidnapped by the AllFather.
Still reading to see where it goes but if each BOTK book from here on out results in diminishing returns, I'm done. She can't make a good decision to safe her life literally. Is she really suppose to be a successful lawyer? Confusing and frustrating. I can't sympathize. She's poorly written.
Brave and knows how to act in front of judge and jury. All I can ask at this point is Where was the editor? A few chapter rewrites could've saved this book! And now I have zero empathy for her. A whole paragraph about how she feels "strange" because she forgot she ate something that makes her horny?!?

- Pursued (Brides of the Kindred, #6).
Even though she ate it for the specific purpose of getting horny?!? And even though she was told by several friends to eat no more than a few bites, the same genuis mind that almost got her killed in the jungle decides to eat them all. And then, instead of telling her guy, "hey, I took all this fruit and we desparately need to have sex," she tells him NOTHING and locks herself in the bathroom to masturbate in secret?!?
She does this even after Merrick tells her how much he loves her and wants her? I can't handle a dumb character when they're suppose to be smart. I was going to bump up this to 3 stars but not anymore. I should give it 1 star but I liked Merrick. Finally, a small complaint, if you're going to have such a crazy difference in height she's like five feet tall and he's over seven feet you have to write it in that way. No girl that short can stand next to a guy that tall and put her head on his shoulder.
Again, I have to ask, where was the editor? Jun 05, Becca rated it liked it Shelves: sci-fi-fantasy , kindle-lendable. This one was a struggle for me. Like many here, I love the ongoing saga of the Kindred and their Brides. However, the stories are starting to feel very repetitive and the ongoing whining and hand wringing has gone on a bit too long for my taste.
This installment focused on Elise, the last captive of the evil All Father, and Merrick a scared inside and out half-breed Kindred. The basic story line has been told enough, so I'll just skip to my thoughts. I enjoyed the time spent on Rageron. It is This one was a struggle for me. It is always fun to meet a new culture and environment. Merrick's uncles were great and the planet's environs lush, adorable, and deadly dangerous. I loved the My Little Pony references!
What tried my patience was the overlong struggle between Merrick and Elise. They kept bouncing back and forth between desire, anger, determination to avoid the other, and just general whinging about. By the time they got their HEA at the end, I was relieved to be done with it.
